The Shape of Crap to Come

Ask me anything   Oh, hello dearest viewer. My name is Carin and this is one of my many attempts at internet presence. I hope you enjoy it much more than I do. The videos/pictures I put on here are simply random findings of mine, I rarely own any of them. The ramblings, though... ah, they're entirely mine.

donothingbenothing:

Carin and I started this thing at the end of last year after I dropped out of University. I moved back to Brighton from London. We had no real goal or aim, we weren’t even sure what it was we wanted to do. After more than enough nights getting stoned and brainstorming some of the worst ideas I’ve heard in my 22 years on our beloved planet. At the time I was running a pretty casual music based tumblr, you know, one of those. It was called Do Nothing Be Nothing. Some people think that it’s some sort of guilt led motivational push, it’s not. Since I’d quit Uni I was doing nothing and quite set on being nothing too. Carin, who was currently working (/being creatively oppressed, man) as an online marketing whatever-er for a cosmetics company felt the same.

SO Be Nothing was born, still without a sense of direction. A few months passed, true to form we had done precisely nothing. At this time I saw a tweet from Cory Levinson (Kohwi) asking for UK dates. The Eureka moment ? maybe. Not saying that what we do is original in any shape or form but for us, it was a start point. We had a purpose, or some shit yano. And of course went about it like the total virgins to the game that we were/are, picking it up as we went along. Fundamentally it’s fanboi and grrl #1 taking it one step further. It’s been hella fun, we’ve met some of the coolest, nicest, most interesting people because of it. It’s also, dare we say it, been somewhat successful, by our modestly high expectations. Every artist that’s played for us has been amazing, there’s one thing hearing tracks bounced around online blogs but it’s another experiencing them live. So, 2012 looming (kinda) we’re putting stuff into place for what we’ve heard will be the last year ever…

Whatever we are/this is, will grow. Like the washing up in the sink that’s existence you refuse to acknowledge.

We’re just happy people OKAY.

shit i’ll never understand #1

hello and welcome to my new set of posts called ‘shit i’ll never understand’ where i will be showing shit i’ll never understand.

the ultimate thing i’ll never understand is: UGG boots.

why?

shapeless, animal like, uggly (see what i did there), overpriced, weird, weird, weird. and don’t tell me how comfortable they are; the CROCS people already took that excuse.

factoids #54

in a month, myself and my boyfriend are going to paris to see frank ocean and i can’t even find the words to express just how happy i am. frank has been an extremely huge part of my life for the past months, in ways too complicated to blog about. it’s hard, in this day and age, to find someone who truly, fully inspires you to the extent he does to me.

anyway, we have been thinking about taking some days off for a long time now, and paris just feels right. it will be my third, his second, but possibly the best time. hoping time goes fast - in the meantime i have business to attend to, a new and exciting job and friends i need to stop neglecting.

we all try.
